The Innovation Game: Bringing Materials Handling Machine Concepts to Life.
Leading drive and control specialist Bosch Rexroth is launching an Innovation Award to nurture innovation amongst warehouse machine equipment manufacturers and their supply chain.
Aimed at individuals who work across the warehousing sector, the competition will offer entrants the chance to bring their new heavy-duty mobile machine concepts to life.
The BODAS system consists of a hardware and a software kit, ideally suited to the diverse requirements of mobile working machines. The modular control system is designed to be simple to install and commission and thus reduce costs.
The individual crowned the ‘Innovation Champion’ will receive a complete BODAS control system, together with 100 hours of design support to help turn their leading innovation into reality. The top prize also includes hardware, software and product training for up to five people, while additional prizes are on offer for second and third places.
Chris Hudson, National Sales Manager for Mobile Applications at Bosch Rexroth, said: “Manufacturing in the 21st century remains a key element of economic growth, trade, productivity and development. In fact, most innovations are introduced first in the manufacturing and engineering sector, making it a hub for technical change and economic growth.
“Whether your invention increases efficiencies, reduces costs and emissions or streamlines an existing process, we want to recognise and support your innovation. If you think your idea has the potential to transform the industry, then now’s your chance to prove it.”
The Innovation Award is open to engineers aged 18 and over and resident in the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland who are working for manufacturers of, or suppliers to, the construction, agricultural, materials handling or on/off-highway vehicles industry.
All entries must be submitted before the closing date on 22 December 2017 and the winners will be announced in January 2018.
All innovations must incorporate Bosch Rexroth’s BODAS control system and competition entries will be marked on creativity, practicality and complexity.
