SEC Storage Finalists in Supply Chain Excellence Awards
SEC Storage is delighted to announce that it has been selected as a finalist for the Supply Chain Excellence Awards for their racking solution within the new, 9,630sq/m refrigerated cargo terminal, which forms part of the Dover Western Docks Revival development for their customer, the Port of Dover.
The award entry, under the category of ‘Logistics Innovation’, showcases a high-density drive-in racking system designed to maximise offloading and receiving velocity to ensure the pallet retrieval process is as efficient as possible.
Harry Watts, Commercial Director at SEC Storage, commented, “Through the use of data, digital twinning and comprehensive statistical analysis, we could demonstrate the validity of our solution with complete confidence, and deliver a solution which fully met the operational requirements of the Port. This ensures maximum up-time of the solution, ease of repair and replacement, whilst providing the shortest ROI timescales compared to automation.”
Kevin Williams, Senior Project Manager – Dover Western Docks Revival, said: “SEC Storage played an integral part in the design and delivery of a solution to ensure the pallet storage and retrieval process was as efficient as possible. A number of storage solutions were explored and following space planning and operational analysis we found the best solution to achieve our criterion would be a high-density, drive-in racking system.”
