Toyota Material Handling Europe awarded Platinum medal in EcoVadis Sustainability Rating for 6th consecutive year
In their most recent EcoVadis sustainability assessment, Toyota Material Handling Europe achieved ‘Platinum’ rating, which places them in the top 1% of companies assessed by EcoVadis globally.
Toyota Material Handling Europe received 83 points in the latest EcoVadis Sustainability Rating and was awarded with the Platinum medal. Receiving this medal – the highest recognition – for six years in a row is a commendable accomplishment.
Since 2012, Toyota Material Handling Europe has significantly improved its score by 31 points, moving from Bronze in 2012 to Gold in 2013 to Platinum in 2019.
The company ranks in the top one percent of about 100,000 companies that were assessed worldwide by EcoVadis, a leading provider of business sustainability ratings. The EcoVadis assessment evaluates 21 sustainability criteria across four critical areas: Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.
Defining social and governance (ESG) targets early on and following the CSRD—the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive—framework has helped Toyota Material Handling identify its material impacts, risks and opportunities. Not only has EcoVadis awarded the Platinum medal, but they also rank Toyota Material Handling Europe as Carbon Leader, a score recently added to help companies assess their carbon performance.
“We are honoured by the achievement overall and with our score for Environmental Management in particular. The fact that EcoVadis categories us in the top 10% of companies receiving a “Leader” rating for carbon management indicates that we are on the right path with our Net Zero programme” comments Per Fyrenius, Senior Vice President Corporate Development, Toyota Material Handling Europe.
“We are committed to working closely with our suppliers and customers on the journey to net zero, guided by our science-based targets approved by the SBTi. By building resilient supply chains, developing Net Zero solutions for customers, and launching our Logiconomi connections with startups with innovative climate solutions, we strive to go beyond compliance.”
Toyota Material Handling Europe consolidates its position among the top 1% of companies assessed globally by EcoVadis, the world’s most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings. The ratings provide an evidence-based analysis on performance and an actionable roadmap for continuous improvement.
“EcoVadis assessments are integral to our sustainability strategy. Through these assessments, we gain valuable insights into our strengths and areas for improvement, allowing us to continuously enhance our practices.” concludes Fyrenius.
