Toyota introduce three brand-new stand-in warehouse trucks built around lithium-ion batteries
Toyota Material Handling is launching the next generation of stand-in powered pallet and stacker trucks, designed for load handling and stacking in high-intensity operations. The powerful models offer high productivity and are available with energy-efficient lithium-ion technology, improved safety features and great ergonomics for efficient operations.
The three new models: Toyota BT Levio LSI200 – 2t stand-in powered pallet truck, BT Staxio SSI200D – 2t stand-in double stacker truck and BT Staxio SSI160LN – 1,6t narrow stand-in stacker truck with elevating support arms follow the same modular approach – the Radical Energy Design (RED) – as the recent design thinking process of the li-ion powered pallet truck BT Levio LWI160 from Toyota.
The stand-in low lifters and stackers trucks are built around lithium-ion battery modules, which are fitted within the chassis frame. This redesign, in combination with the compact dimension of the models and the lithium-ion technology, contributes to very low energy consumption. Altogether these new models offer many advantages such as: higher manoeuvrability, more uptime and efficiency during shifts as well as lower CO2 emissions.
Jose Maria Gener, Vice President Sales & Marketing at Toyota Material Handling Europe states: “We are proud to release these brand-new stand-in products to the market, built around our lithium-ion solution to deliver class leading ergonomics whilst minimising energy consumption. With this new product family, we have a solution for our customers who are looking for ergonomic, safe and energy efficient products that aim to increase productivity and reduce operational costs.”
High performance
The new generation stand-in powered pallet and stacker trucks are designed for transport in high-intensity applications over long horizontal distances.
They allow for high levels of performance with excellent manoeuvrability, with smooth uninterrupted movement thanks to 360° steering. The intuitive 180° steering is also available. The unique compact chassis size and short turning radius of the new li-ion stand-in models make them fit easily in narrow spaces or narrow aisles. The driver compartment allows for high visibility on the forks and goods being handled, also thanks to the truck’s reduced dimensions, maximising efficiency.
The double stacker offers time saving and enhanced efficiency thanks to double loads handling on both forks and support arms with a capacity up to 2000kg.
Block stacking and stacking at elevated height (up to 5.4m) is made possible with the LN stacker version, especially in narrow aisles. Furthermore, the driver is well protected under the overhead guard without compromising on visibility for productive operation.
High uptime with energy efficient lithium-ion solution
Being built around li-ion batteries, the extreme compactness of the trucks guarantees reduced energy consumption. A single compact chassis size of 790mm width comes with a choice between three li-ion Intelligent Energy Packs from Toyota: – 210, 300 or 420Ah Li-Ion battery capacities, offers high levels of energy and class leading low energy consumption.
Combined with a wide range of li-ion chargers, these options reduce overall costs and guarantee high uptime in high-intensity customer applications. Continuous operation over multiple shifts is made possible thanks to quick and safe opportunity charging on the new li-ion low lifter and stacker trucks from Toyota.
Built around the operator for maximum safety
The new stand-in models are designed with a strong focus on safety. The operator, standing or semi-seated, is always highly protected within the enclosed driver compartment. Furthermore, in combination with the compact chassis, it offers drivers excellent visibility all around, increasing safety in high- throughput applications. The automatic speed reduction when turning, operator presence sensing (both on floor mat and joystick), blue LED warning light also contribute to safe operations. The new stand-in trucks are smart trucks as standard, factory fitted with I_Site, the fleet management system from Toyota that allows customers to monitor and control their truck fleet. The overhead guard on the stacker model offers the driver additional safety without compromising on visibility.
More comfort and ergonomics for higher output
Both stackers and powered pallet trucks are built with the driver in mind. To ensure comfort and productivity throughout the whole shift, the driver compartment has been ergonomically designed with all controls easy to reach and operate. The truck features an adjustable right-hand control unit with an ergonomic joystick, a steering wheel for easy and smooth manoeuvring and a colour touchscreen display allowing perfect interaction between the operator and the truck. An adjustable sit/stand chair, dampened floor and clear visibility all around, add to delivering optimum driver productivity and efficiency.
To suit all high-intensive applications and environment
A range of various options to suit any kind of highly intensive application in material handling operations is also available: different mast configurations, fork lengths and fork widths, e-bar accessories, etc.
Built around you for a better performance, for more ergonomics, for higher energy efficiency and for more safety. With the focus of their design on the operator, these multi-purpose trucks are suitable for a wide range of customers, as part of a larger truck fleet in warehouses and distribution centres, in industries such as food- or automotive industries, even in cold store applications.
