PowerTool World drives packaging performance with Neopost’s CVP-500
Neopost Shipping, the automated packaging solutions provider, has installed its third CVP-500 fully automated boxing machine in the UK at PowerToolWorld’s fulfilment centre in Newton Aycliffe.
As one of the UK’s largest tool distributors, PowerToolWorld has invested in Neopost Shipping’s advanced fit-to-size packing system to enhance the performance of its fulfilment operations, giving it the capacity to meet the demands of its rapidly expanding online business – supplying power tools, fixings and consumables to the construction sector.
The CVP-500 has the design capability to replace 8-16 packing desks by ‘auto-boxing’ multiple or single items into a right size box every seven seconds. As each box is tailor-made it avoids the need for void fill and reduces volume during transport.
Chris Guy, founder and Managing Director of PowerToolWorld says: “We needed a super-fast automated packing solution that could support the growth of our business. Finding staff for our busy packaging and despatch operations was becoming increasingly difficult, particularly during peak periods. So investing in Neopost Shipping’s CVP-500 has reduced the strain of hiring extra staff and given us the ability to meet both our projected growth targets and peak periods, while maintaining and developing our customer service offerings.”
He adds, “Performance, reliability and 24/7 support were critical factors in our decision making, and Neopost met our criteria.”
Jo Bradley, Business Development Manager for Neopost Shipping in the UK, says: “We are delighted to supply one of our CVP-500 automated packaging machines to PowerToolWorld – one of the largest and best known brands in the sector. We’re confident that the fit-to-size automated packaging solution will provide significant productivity gains for the business, increasing capacity and throughput, while reducing reliance on human resources.”
PowerToolWorld took delivery of the CVP-500 in early November just in time for the seasonal Black Friday peak in demand.
Optimising all steps in the packaging process, the CVP-500 measures, constructs, tapes, weighs and labels each parcel in one seamless process – creating a fit-to-size box for single- or multi-item orders of variable dimension.
