New Hyster® Rider Tow Tractor Supports Automotive Industry Productivity.
Two new models have been added to the Hyster® tow tractor range to support operations in the automotive and engineering industries. Built to enhance productivity, the new Hyster® rider tow tractors are ideal for any type of line feed operation.
Designed to support manufacturing operations in transporting material to and from production lines, the new Hyster ® T7.0HS3 three-wheel and T8.0HS4 four-wheel rider tow tractors are capable of towing up to 7000 kg or 8000 kg respectively.
“The new rider Hyster® tow tractors offer power, high performance and excellent manoeuvrability,” says Tracy Brooks, Industry Solutions Group Manager for Hyster Europe. “The automotive industry is very much demand-driven, so dependable and efficient materials handling equipment is vital to operate with optimum efficiency to meet Just-In-Time requirements.”
Both models offer excellent manoeuvrability thanks to the compact design, anti-roll back on ramps device, and external inching control buttons to assist with trailer hitching. The tow tractors also feature adjustable acceleration and travel speeds that can be set by a service engineer using a console, to meet the different needs of specific applications.
“These new tow tractors offer a number of ergonomic features, which contribute to excellent productivity during long and demanding shifts,” adds Tracy. “There is a single step, a comfortable suspended seat, and intuitive truck controls. The 4-wheel model also features power-assisted steering, a heated cab option and slam locking doors.”
Highly reliable, the rider tow tractors feature a solid frame construction, AC control system, automatically applied transmission parking brake, and quality components, providing long-term dependability and durability. The four-wheel tow tractor model is also designed to offer good stability over rough, uneven or broken surfaces.
Advanced control features, such as easy diagnostics via a handheld controller, also help to deliver a low cost of ownership. Both models are also telematics ready, so the Hyster Tracker fleet management system can be fitted to monitor operational use Downtime for routine or unplanned maintenance is minimised thanks to easy service access and the low maintenance AC traction motor with built-in thermal protection.
A number of options are available to tailor the vehicles to the specific needs of an application, including four different battery sizes and battery extraction options, a choice of tyres, and roll-up PVC curtain side doors. Hyster® Tugger Train systems are also available and can be used with the entire tow tractor range, enabling production line-feed operations to be optimised.
“This is an intelligently designed, tough and reliable tow tractor, that will suit a number of demanding applications within the automotive supply chain and beyond,” adds Tracy.
The new trucks extend the Hyster® tow tractor range, joining the existing LO5.0-7.0T models. Popular in the automotive sector, the LO5.0-7.0T tow tractors can either be operated by a standing driver, or automated for certain repetitive tasks.
