KAUP Attachments Improves Productivity at Modern Enerji .
The company, Modern Enerji Elektrik Üretim A.Ş. (Modern Enerji), is part of the energy division of the Turkish Eren-Group. The company, based near Istanbul, produces electricity and heat from gas and recycled materials. Modern Enerji operates a modern power plant complex in Corlu, which is located about 100 kilometers west of Istanbul.
The plant was connected to the grid in 2014 and operates three reactors which produce more than 100 MW of electricity and 295 t/h of steam energy/heat. This energy is generated from natural gas, water and waste paper obtained from the surrounding paper and corrugated paper mills.
During the production process, heavy bales of waste paper must be picked up, transported, turned and emptied into large metal containers. To assist with the complex task of moving, lifting and rotating these heavy containers, Modern Enerji contacted KAUP, the German based forklift truck attachment manufacturer, to provide a solution to this material handling task.
To ensure this material handling process is as safe, effective and precise as possible KAUP provided the energy company with a T456 Rotating Fork Positioner. This robust attachment has a rotating range of 360°, a torque of 56.000 Nm and can carry a load of more than eleven tons on the forks. The T456 Rotating Fork Positioner has an opening range of up to 1.200 mm (measured between the inner sides of the forks) which allows for the precise collection and safe transport of the large metal containers.
B&B Attachments Ltd are the sole distributors for KAUP in the UK and Ireland. These specialist attachments are available throughout the territory through B&B Attachments. B&B prides itself on providing efficient handling solutions for all industry sectors, including construction, brewing, paper handling and logistics. It also manufacturers bespoke attachments in-house for customers with unique requirements.
