BYD continues its expansion into Europe.
New energy specialists BYD continues to build on its early success with an expansion of its forklift dealer network in The UK and mainland Europe.
Since its introduction to the European market in 2015, BYD has continued to increase the number of its exclusive dealers which currently stands in excess of 60 companies covering Germany, The U.K., Ireland, The Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Spain and Portugal.
In exchange for their experience and understanding of the local lift truck market, BYD offers its dealers sole rights to market its products within their defined territories, enabling them to maximise value in its unique product offering.
BYD manufactures lift trucks powered solely by Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries which are sourced from within their own manufacturing organisation. This enables the lift truck division to offer the most competitively priced Lithium powered product on the market and enables the dealer to offer their customers a cost effective alternative to conventional lead acid technology and fossil fuelled equipment.
Currently the product offering from BYD covers 3 and 4-wheel counterbalanced trucks, both ride-on, pedestrian pallet trucks and ride-on tow tractors, however there are plans in place to increase the range to include larger capacity ECB’s, a wider range of warehouse products including a high lift reach truck together with 25T tow tractors for use in airports and other transit locations.
BYD will be making more announcements regarding new products later this year.
Gary Winter, Country Manager for the UK and Ireland commented “We have made a great start in Europe and plans are now in place to move to the next level both in terms of product development and After Sales Support, so the future looks bright for BYD, its dealers and their customers.”
“With over 700 trucks sold in the first two years and many blue chip companies expressing an interest in Lithium product and specifically BYD, we are confident that we are well placed to build on the success we have achieved to date.”
“Recent announcements regarding the move away from fossil fuelled vehicles in major European countries only serves to underline that Lithium powered equipment will be an integral part of the European electric vehicle market going forward.”
