Indoorway Industry 4.0 enables data-driven management in factories and warehouses.
Indoorway launches a set of tools for monitoring and traffic analysis in manufacturing or logistics sites. The newly released B2B service – Indoorway Industry 4.0 – has been implemented at the Electrolux factory, where it helps to identify potential areas for productivity improvements.
Increasing the efficiency of industrial processes is one of the biggest challenges for managers and executives in manufacturing plants and logistics hubs. They work in an interdependent and complex environment, where each and every person, vehicle, asset and second counts. The optimization of procedures in such organizations leads to better use of the company’s resources, brings financial gains and improves health & safety in the workplace. Understanding the needs of the industry, Indoorway introduces a new B2B service for traffic measurements. By employing precise indoor location technology, this advanced solution upgrades production and storage venues in the spirit of the fourth industrial revolution.
Bringing transparency to production processes
Indoorway Industry 4.0 can be used on a daily basis for operational excellence or just for a couple of weeks as a brief checkup of the current efficiency of a site. It helps managers and executives seamlessly collect and analyze information about manufacturing processes, such as: movement patterns, shifts’ activity level, mileage statistics, usage level of vehicles and many more. Indoor positioning of assets and employees is possible thanks to sensors, which are placed on machines and walls, as well as those built in mobile devices.
The data gathered from a plant or store is presented in an accessible and intuitive Analytical Dashboard delivered by Indoorway. This tool gives the access to the real time and historical information, heat maps, movement recordings, as well as detailed statistics for a specific zone, pathway or platform. Such insights ensure optimised use of crucial resources, help with identifying potential safety hazards and make adaptation to the changing dynamics of production smoother and quicker.
Digitization of Electrolux factory
The first manufacturer that applied Indoorway Industry 4.0 in its factory is Electrolux. The pilot implementation has been launched in a pick-up zone at the component warehouse in Żarów.
– This is a strategic location and the starting point for all the internal logistics processes. Any delays at this point can affect the workflow of the whole company. Thanks to data collected by Indoorway’s solution, we’ve examined the usage rate of each unloading ramp, activity of each shift, as well as the movement of forklifts. With such insights and analytical tools we can easily standardize our employees’ work cycle, monitor assets and optimize logistics processes better – says Kamila Gudzowska-Krzyżak, Supply Chain Manager Electrolux Żarów.
The Polish tech company has lowered the number of needed devices to deploy their highly accurate system, which makes Indoorway Industry 4.0 even 3 times cheaper than other indoor positioning solutions. Indoorway team takes care of the whole implementation process. It can be done during a night shift or a weekend, so it doesn’t impact the running production. Covering the space of 3500 m2 and setting up the digital map at Electrolux took less than 8 hours. Indoorway operates worldwide and so far it has digitized nearly 1 million m2.
