Hugo Beck, a leading manufacturer of horizontal packaging machines, has announced the appointment of Simon Beck and Jonas Beck as Managing Directors. As grandsons of company founder Hugo Beck, they represent the continued leadership of the family business in its third generation.
The appointments follow the departure of Timo Kollmann as Managing Director who is taking on a new professional opportunity after 20 years with Hugo Beck. During his tenure, he played a key role in driving innovation, strengthening the company’s market position, and contributing to its overall development.
“After many fulfilling years in the management of Hugo Beck, I’ve decided to take on a new professional challenge,” said Timo Kollmann. “I’m confident the company is in excellent hands with the continued leadership of the Beck family and look forward to seeing its future success.”
Curt-Juergen Raiser will remain in his role as Managing Director until his deserved retirement in October 2025. Having been with the company for nearly 30 years his experience will help ensure a smooth transition and continued reliability for Hugo Beck’s customers during the handover period.
This milestone reaffirms Hugo Beck’s identity as a family-run business – a tradition that has shaped its values and long-term strategic thinking since it was founded in 1955. Over the past seven decades, the company has grown from a small mechanical workshop into a globally recognised provider of customised packaging and automation solutions. With a global portfolio of customers and machines used across a wide range of industries for a multitude of products and packaging styles, Hugo Beck continues to deliver flexible, efficient, and sustainable technologies for both film and paper packaging.
Simon Beck, who has been with Hugo Beck for six years, takes on responsibility for the company’s technical operations. As Head of Production and Authorised Signatory, he has been closely involved in the day-to-day running of the business and has contributed to advancing its technical processes. He holds a degree in industrial engineering and management and previously gained experience in industrial environments as assembly manager with strong focus on process optimisation. His background in packaging machine design and manufacturing processes brings both expertise and continuity to his new role.
Jonas Beck joined Hugo Beck in January 2025 and takes on responsibility for the company’s commercial operations. With the same background in industrial engineering and management and previous roles in controlling, logistics, and process management he brings valuable expertise in business strategy. His focus is on aligning the company’s offerings with market needs and building long-term customer relationships.
“We’re proud to continue our family’s legacy while positioning the business for the future,” said Jonas Beck. “We’re grateful for the contributions of Timo Kollmann and Curt-Juergen Raiser, who have helped shape Hugo Beck’s direction over the recent years. Our goal is to build on this foundation to ensure Hugo Beck remains a trusted partner in horizontal packaging, known for both technical expertise and close collaboration with customers.”
“As we enter this next chapter, we remain focused on precision engineering, innovation, and developing film and paper packaging solutions that meet the real-world needs of our customers,” added Simon Beck. “We’re committed to building on what’s been achieved while adapting to the new challenges and opportunities shaping our industry.”
With the leadership now in the hands of the third generation, Hugo Beck reinforces its long-standing commitment to quality, sustainability, and customer-specific packaging machines – values that have defined the company for 70 years and continue to guide its path forward.
