Firestone launches regional on-road truck tyre range
Firestone is today announcing the launch of its new regional on-road truck tyre range, now developed with Bridgestone’s ENLITEN technology. Combining value for money with reliable performance, the pioneering brand’s latest regional truck tyre range has been engineered to reduce both total cost of ownership and environmental footprint for fleet operations, thanks to longer mileage and improved fuel efficiency compared to its predecessors.
Dependable performance, reducing operational costs
Built on a 120-year legacy in the tyre industry, Firestone serves customers seeking dependable products that offer value for money. Designed to address real-world issues in regional operations and meet the expectations of today’s fleets, FS424, FD624 and FT524 – the new Firestone regional on-road tyre range for steer, drive and trailer axles – offer the ultimate reliability.
Firestone’s latest tyre range provides a mileage that’s up to 20 percent improved on the performance of its predecessors,[iv] leading to a cost per kilometre that’s reduced by 10 percent.[v] The new range also provides better fuel efficiency, with competitive label grades providing an up to 15 percent reduction in rolling resistance vs. its predecessors.[vi] And thanks to Bridgestone’s retreading solutions, truck fleets and tyre buyers can also easily extend their tyre life and further reduce their total cost of ownership.
The tyre range’s longer wear life and optimised fuel efficiency is enabled by the introduction of ENLITEN technology. Used for the first time in a Firestone regional on-road tyre range, it optimises total cost of ownership for truck fleets and accelerates their own sustainability journey. The ENLITEN tyre technology platform is Bridgestone’s innovative approach to tyre development, combining cutting-edge technologies to provide maximum safety and outstanding tyre performance for drivers, while improving the sustainability characteristics of the tyre.
With competitive wet grip labels and 3PMSF marking, Firestone’s latest regional truck tyre range ensures year-round dependability.
Firestone’s latest truck tyre range will be available in six additional sizes as part of an expanded line-up thus providing a greater choice to customers vs. its predecessor. The first sizes will arrive on the market from September 2023, and the remaining will follow over the course of 2024. This new range will replace the current Firestone Plus line-up.
Commenting on this announcement was Waqqas Ahmad, Commercial Sales Director, Bridgestone EMIA: “Truck fleets need tyres that combine year-round reliability with a reduced total cost of ownership – especially in today’s climate. Leveraging ENLITEN for the first time, we’ve directly addressed these real-world customer needs to develop a new Firestone truck tyre range that aims to become the best choice in the mid-segment. Available in a wide range of sizes, the FS424, FD624 and FT524 are a landmark range for both the Firestone brand and cost-conscious fleets looking for the smart tyre choice.”
