RackBot, the latest innovation in automated intralogistics technology from Lancashire-based Rainbow Dynamics, is described by the company as representing a paradigm shift in goods-to-person automated order picking.
Thanks to its streamlined design and straightforward build process, RackBot can be installed and up and running in one-third of the time that it would take to construct a traditional tote-shuttle system. And because RackBot is compatible with standard storage units, it can cost as much as 50 per cent less to install than other automated picking solutions that require more high-end storage systems.
RackBot is incredibly agile and can be quickly adapted to meet a user’s changing requirements. This flexibility coupled with its cost efficiency and ability to be rapidly deployed, makes RackBot an ideal choice for businesses seeking to introduce a cost-effective and adaptable automated picking solution within the shortest timeframe and with minimal disruption to their operational processes.
It is suitable for use in a broad range of industries including the electronics, pharmaceutical, automotive parts sectors and online grocery fulfilment centres. And RackBot is particularly suited to the new breed of micro fulfilllment centres that feature in a growing number of supply chains.
Frazer Watson, Global Vice President of Rainbow Dynamics, said: “Rainbow Dynamics is dedicated to driving innovation and delivering value to its customers by bringing ground-breaking, reliable, and future-forward automated solutions to the market.”
He added: “RackBot, does not require any costly fixed infrastructure, is straightforward to commission and is very quickly installed within busy warehouses, distribution centres and online fulfilment facilities. Furthermore, the fact that it is scalable and has built-in flexibility enables RackBot to adapt to a user’s changing requirements.” From November products from Rainbow Dynamics’ range of sustainable robotic load handing and parcel sortation solutions can be seen operating within a realistic live warehouse setting at a new ‘Customer Experience Centre’ in Chorley, Lancashire.
