Manchester Logistics Specialist Takes Customer Service Up A Gear.
Transport, storage and distribution firm MSL (Manchester Storage Limited) has unveiled details of its latest plan to future-proof the business and ensure customers continue to receive exceptional standards of service.
Keen to replace time-consuming manual processes with an up-to-date application that runs on Microsoft Windows, the Oldham-based company recently signed a contract with warehouse management and supply chain specialist, Access Group.
The implementation of Access Delta WMS (warehouse management system) means the third-party logistics (3PL) provider’s clients can now place orders, view stock in real-time and report on an order status via a web portal whenever they want. Part of a raft of measures to improve operational efficiency and productivity, Delta WMS allows MSL to automate its invoices and link to courier systems, enabling customers to track their goods at every stage.
Commenting on the partnership, Debbie Briffa, director at MSL, said:
“We needed a rapid deployed solution that is also easy to use. Access Delta gives the business the real-time visibility and data it needs to streamline operations within the warehouse. The graphical warehouse map allows us to see exactly what is happening, so we can get rid of spreadsheets and other manual processes.”
She added that, with hundreds of 3PL sites, it was vital MSL worked with a company thathas extensive knowledge of the sector.
Explaining further, Zaeem Batavia, WMS specialist at Access Group, said:
“Debbie and her team could have mapped out their new processes to the existing system, but they were reluctant to do so because the legacy software was unsupported and out of line with customer expectations.
“They were looking for a technology partner that understood the 3PL market and could deliver a system capable of meeting their current and future requirements. Another benefit was the fact that Delta can be up and running in a matter of weeks, which is vital for maintaining business continuity.”
