Isotrak Group acquires market leading breathalyser immobilisation business.
Following the acquisition and highly successful integration of fleet management technology business Verilocation in June last year, the Isotrak Group has today acquired Alcolock®GB Ltd, the UK market leader in the supply of breathalyser immobilisation systems to the bus, coach and wider commercial vehicle sector. Key customers include National Express and Lafarge.
Established in 2006, Alcolock has developed the market leading breathalyser immobilisation system. The breathalyser technology is integrated with a GPS unit enabling customers to retrieve data and analysis of its driver community via a web portal. If the alcohol content of a driver is measured above the legal or other lower preset limit, the vehicle is immobilised and an alert also sent immediately, allowing organisations greater control over (and compliance with) driver safety standards.
Jim Sumner, Chairman of Isotrak Group commented, “We are delighted with what is our second acquisition in seven months. Also given DVLA statistics showing that alcohol-related bans in the sector have increased by 59% in the past three years, the emphasis on safety and compliance in the commercial vehicle sector is higher than ever.” Sumner went on to say, “increasing insurance premiums, greater awareness of director’s duties and the need to rehabilitate drivers given the industry shortage make for a compelling case to fit a breathalyser system.”
Andrew Overton, Group Technology director and CEO of Verilocation said, “The breathalyser immobilisation technology is a highly complementary add-on to our current platform and will be fully integrated into our end-to-end telematics, journey management, camera and ePOD systems, which will immediately offer an enhanced system proposition to Verilocation and Isotrak customers.”
David Whittock, Managing Director of Alcolock GB Ltd said: “We are delighted to be joining forces with Isotrak Group. This presents a great opportunity to take our business to the next level as part of one of the leading telematics and fleet services businesses in the Industry. We have been very impressed with the successful integration of Verilocation, the growth and strong market reputation of the business and very confident that we will add enormous value to the Group and its customers”.
