Enterprise Flex-E-Rent, a leading provider of commercial vehicle hire solutions, has teamed up with SureCam to explore innovation within the marketplace and support its connected fleet strategy. The partnership takes advantage of SureCam’s video-enabled telematics ecosystem, bringing together a growing number of industry specialists – including Peoplesafe and Optimize – with the aim of developing integrated technology solutions.
“We are looking at how we can leverage more from technology as part of our ambitious fleet digitisation strategy,” explains James Walker, Group SMR Manager at Enterprise Flex-E-Rent. “Working closely with SureCam and its partners, we are using complementary tools, integrated with our internal systems, to create a connected fleet solution that improves safety and eliminates risk, while supporting a highly efficient and productive operation.”
SureCam’s dashcams have been used within the Enterprise Flex-E-Rent mobile service van fleet since 2022. This bespoke front-and rear-facing solution has been designed to gain indisputable video evidence for incident investigations as well as provide the means to deter, detect and record tool theft events. However, the partnership is evolving to use the SureCam ecosystem, which delivers the most comprehensive range of complementary technologies to meet precise fleet and risk management requirements.
The mobile service van fleet has 100 vehicles driven by technicians that operate across the UK and Ireland. These mobile technicians are responsible for providing maintenance as part of managed fleet solutions for 67,000 Enterprise-and customer-owned vehicles. In addition to the dashcam solution with a secondary rear-facing device, Enterprise Flex-E-Rent has adopted Peoplesafe’s lone worker protection service to provide mobile technicians with peace of mind that support is always on hand. The company is also working with Optimize to go beyond route optimisation to achieve AI-powered fleet management.
“The connected technology approach is benefitting our own fleet and providing return on investment but also enabling us to deliver powerful fleet management services to our customers. Our aspiration is to give our customers the information and insight needed to run their businesses effectively. We are, therefore, working with fleet technology partners to make this a reality,” adds Walker.
Sam Footer, Partnership Director of SureCam commented: “This valued partnership is a perfect example of how the video-enabled ecosystem is designed to work, bringing together technology specialists to develop integrated solutions that tackle complex fleet challenges. We are working closely with the Enterprise Flex-E-Rent team to drive innovation in the connected fleet space to deliver smarter, safer and more productive operations. Moving forward, we will be supporting a calendar of depot days across the UK and Ireland to showcase the benefits of integrated technology solutions.”
