The mobile, self-storage solution, which is marketed using the “room it!” brand, has been available in Vienna and Lower Austria too since the beginning of July. The service provided by Rhenus Office Systems delivers the storage facility to the door of private and business customers and therefore offers greater value compared to classic self-storage systems.
“We’ve developed a new, innovative concept especially for “room it!” in Vienna. This involves placing the mobile storage facility directly in front of our customers’ front door using a skip container and therefore giving them the opportunity of filling it comfortably without having to incur any transport expenditure themselves,” says Gerrit Merten, the Managing Director of Rhenus Office Systems Austria.
“room it!” is based at the logistics site in Gross-Enzersdorf, it has the necessary proximity to its customers in Vienna and in the surrounding area and can therefore respond to enquiries at short notice. In addition to the XXL box, which holds about eight cubic metres, “room it!” offers smaller 650-litre containers on wheels and smart boxes in the shape of a cardboard removals box.
“Alongside the pure self-storage solution, we’d like to offer our customers more services and support them, if they wish, in filling the storage boxes too or provide them with the mobile storage box as a removals service, for example,” Gerrit Merten adds.
“room it!” offers an app for mobile phones as an additional service. It is then possible to photograph the stored goods and register them. If necessary, the boxes or individual goods can then be delivered to the customer from the central storage area. The prices for storage start at EUR 2.20 gross per month for a smart box and rise to EUR 99.90 for an XXL box.
