New CEO of the Association for Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics (BME).
The 51-year-old took up this important management function on 1 February 2018.
The graduate entrepreneur has already held a number of crucial leadership positions at the BME on an honorary basis in recent years. Dr. Grobosch has been a Member of the Federal Executive Board since 2004 and its Vice Chairman since 2013. Dr. Grobosch will step down as Vice Chairman on his appointment as Chief Executive Officer. In the past, Dr. Grobosch held senior positions at thyssenkrupp AG over many years.
Founded in 1954, BME is the trade association for buyers, supply chain managers and logisticians in Germany. It has 9,600 members across all industries, sectors, services and public procurement. The volume of goods and services purchased by members amounts to approximately €1.25 trillion annually, which corresponds to approximately half of Germany’s gross domestic product. The 38 member regions form a close-knit network and organise around 400 meetings each year, with lectures, discussions and company visits. Around 900 events are organised each year in Germany and abroad by the association and its subsidiaries.
