Hermes, one of the UK’s leading consumer delivery companies, has announced its partnership with the UK’s largest supermarket to provide ParcelShop services across its convenience estate nationwide. Services will commence from 6th September in the first phase of stores and a continued roll-out is planned over the coming months.
With more consumers choosing Out of Home options for parcel deliveries as lockdown rules lift, which includes ParcelShops and lockers, Hermes plans to expand its network to make it even easier for consumers to access options for sending, receiving and returning parcels.
The Hermes ParcelShop estate currently includes more than 6,000 independent retailers, retail groups and lockers. Hermes predicts that by 2022, 80% of the UK’s population will be within a 10-minute walk of their nearest ParcelShop or locker. It also expects to handle more than 80 million parcels through its Out of Home network this year.
Kath Gill, Head of ParcelShop Services at Hermes, said: “We’re really excited to announce our new partnership with Tesco, which will make Hermes ParcelShop services even more accessible to people across the UK, at a time when we know people are looking for maximum convenience and options for sending, receiving and returning their parcels. The last 18 months have demonstrated the importance of being able to meet ever-changing consumer demands when it comes to both online shopping and customer-to-customer sending, so we continue to invest in our infrastructure, technology and services to support the nation.”
