Empiribox awards warehouse and fulfilment contract to Carousel.
Leading logistics provider Carousel, is delighted to announce that it has been awarded a warehouse and fulfilment contract with education support service Empiribox.
Empiribox provides science equipment, resources and training to primary schools so they can offer ‘hands-on’ science lessons to students for all of the KS1 and KS2 curriculum. As the main distribution partner, Carousel will be responsible for all warehousing and stock management of the Empiribox science kits, along with the final mile delivery and return process.
The solution went live in March 2017 following an accelerated deployment of just four weeks.
The new solution
The contract requires Carousel to deliver and collect science equipment kits to primary schools at the start and end of every term. Due to varying class sizes and requirements, each kit needs to be individually packed and delivered on time, ensuring it arrives in immaculate condition and complete with all parts. To meet these complex requirements, Carousel utilises its Warehouse solution, incorporating its By:ITEM, By:RETURN, By:DAY and By:TIME services.
At a warehouse level, Carousel uses a robust inventory system to track stock in real time and give Empiribox 100% visibility on stock levels, and the ability to know when and what items need purchasing. By pre-stocking kits, Carousel maximises efficiencies and reduces errors prior to delivery.
Utilising both the very latest in logistics technology alongside their friendly Client Service Team, Carousel takes a proactive approach; contacting schools prior to collections to alert teachers and maximise collection and delivery success rates. The flexibility offered by in-house Client Service Teams also gives Empiribox a single point of contact, ensuring the quick resolution of issues and a continuity of service that is unrivalled by many other providers.
David Saul, MD at Empiribox said: “A key selling point of the Empiribox solution is that we make delivering science experiments easy, and that means supplying absolutely everything a teacher needs for any given lesson. Incomplete kits or delays with deliveries is just not an option for us, and that’s why Carousel is the perfect partner as they have designed a unique solution which matches our exact requirements, protecting our reputation and realising our desire for an exceptional customer experience.
“Their innovative solution now gives us complete visibility over all our stock and also the confidence that our science sets get to where they’re supposed to be, at the right time, every time.
One particular achievement by Carousel was to take our stock from a failing supplier and implement a new, workable solution within 4 weeks; essential if we were to maintain our collection and delivery cycle to schools every term.”
Morton Griffiths COO at Carousel Logistics said: “As a critical link in Empiribox’s commitment to delivering service quality, reliability and support, there really is no room for error.
“Yet, despite the brand’s complex logistics need, our combination of innovative systems, alongside first-class support from our friendly Customer Service teams ensures we maintain a brand consistency at all times to meet and exceed customer expectation and support them with their onward growth plans.”
